Our First Volunteers!

We are excited to announce that we will be supporting our first volunteers this winter! To continue our recent partnership with Hands on Peru, we have selected two of their future volunteers, both whom are students at UNC Chapel Hill's Gillings School of Public Health.

Our first volunteer is Sarah Phipps. Sarah is midway through majoring in Health Policy Management Major and minoring in Mandarin Chinese at UNC. Her greatest passion in healthcare is examining racial and socioeconomic health disparities, of which she hopes to deepen her understanding for during her stay in Peru. Sarah will begin her two week program with HOP this week!

Our second volunteer, Emily Browning, is a Junior at UNC majoring in Environmental Health and Sciences. In the future, Emily plans to join the Peace Corp and attend graduate school for public health. She is currently exploring, learning and advocating for her passion of connecting the health of humans and the health of the environment. Emily will be volunteering with HOP for six weeks starting in January!

We'd like to thank all of our individual donors who have made supporting this first class of volunteers possible. Make sure you check in with our volunteers page to follow Sarah and Emily's updates during their time in Peru!
